It took me a while but it's there. I just released version 0.2.0 of my tiny Joomla! plugin, Bot link, which places automatically links around occurrences of any chosen piece of text or any regular expression... The main new feature of 0.2.0 is that Bot link recognizes and avoids HTML markups and translate the special characters like & or '... This is especially useful when one needs to link small keywords which might also be found inside any markup... A short example: {%bot_link text="homepage" link="http://www.yoururl.com/"} This simple bot treated by Bot_link < 0.2.0 would have edited the following markup: <img href="http://www.yoururl.com/" alt="homepage" src="home.jpg"/> to: <img href="http://www.yoururl.com/" alt="<a href="http://www.yoururl.com/">homepage</a>" src="home.jpg"/> which we'll agree is not the desired outcome...
