It has been quite some time since I have written my last post. I thought I would make a little advertisement for a small tool that I recently bought. I was in desperate need of a backup/syncing program for Windows that would function over a variety of protocols and locations. After comparing the specifications of many different pieces of software out there, after trying several of them, only one survived my very stringent test, Allway Sync! You may most probably find many other equivalent programs out there, I definitely do not pretend to any level of comprehensiveness… Only important criteria here, Allway Sync fully met my needs while many other programs did not! To keep it short, Allway Sync proposes a nice graphical user interface combined to versatile backup/syncing capabilities. It turns out to be very user-friendly and not to selective about who is its friend. Allway Sync allows you to backup or sync data between folders on the same drive, different drives, removable media (which may be correctly recognized automatically despite the frequent drive letter changes), network disk, via FTP and via other proprietary protocols. In all of those situations, Allway Sync proposes one or two way syncing with several options to control the propagation of deletions or to filter files according to a large number of criteria (name, size, etc…). The demo version allows you to test all of the features and a license will only be required when the program detects an intense usage which it thinks is not compatible with a non-professional usage. The “Pro” license costs 20$, but is definitely worth it. I’ll just pin a small screen shot. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
